MOSCOW, February 11, /ITAR-TASS/. A Just Russia faction supports the candidature of Ella Pamfilova as the human rights commissioner of the Russian Federation. This decision was made at the closed-door meeting of the faction, a well-informed source told Itar-Tass.
Pamfilova was present at the faction’s meeting. She delivered a brief report and answered deputies’ questions.
The timeframe for the nomination of candidates to the post of the Russian human rights commissioner expires on February 18. The powers of the current human rights commissioner, Vladimir Lukin, expire on the same day.
