IRKUTSK, February 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Drug police have seized a 30 kilogram batch of high-quality heroin from Afghanistan worth 1 billion rubles ($28.8 million) in Irkutsk, Russia’s East Siberia, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service said on Friday.
Drugs were found in a Lexus owned by a 53-year-old resident of the Kemerovo region. Police found 50 packages with heroin weighing around 10 kilograms inside the car. Another 20 kilograms were found in the car’s spare wheel.
Police said the batch they had seized was the largest one for the whole history of law enforcement bodies in the Irkutsk region.
Moreover, police arrested suspected drug dealers, four Tajik nationals.
