MOSCOW, February 06. /ITAR-TASS/. United Russia members described as unprofessional the conclusions of Alexei Kudrin’s Civil Initiatives Committee about spending from regional budgets for needs of party members.

“It is strange to see such unprofessional conclusions from Kudrin,” a member of the party’s General Council, Andrei Isayev, told Itar-Tass.

All the mentioned purchases have no connection to United Russia’s activities, but are aimed at ensuring work of legislatures in regions and legislature members, he said. Funds are provided for United Russia members as well as legislators from other parties.

Isayev expressed regret that Kudrin’s willingness to ensure transparency of budget spending awoke in him so late, but when being finance minister, he stifled any initiatives of deputies to improve budget openness. Since the Committee of Civil Initiatives addresses state spending, then it should thoroughly analyze the budget financing for repair of office rooms of the Finance Ministry, purchases of expensive furniture and for other needs of officials, the politician noted.

The Committee of Civil Initiatives led by Kudrin, once called the world best finance minister, has launched a “State Spendings” project to make public some data of contracts of regional legislatures for coverage of activities of legislators, including United Russia’s members. Experts of the committee believe it is misuse of budget funds.
