MOSCOW, February 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has opened criminal proceedings upon embezzlement of two billion rubles of budget funds in 2013 under the Accounts Chamber, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika said.
Chaika said that cooperation with the Accounts Chamber was positive.
Chairwoman of the Accounts Chamber Tatyana Golikova and Chaika signed an agreement on cooperation on Wednesday, February 5. The document envisions cooperation in revealing crimes in the financial and budget sphere.
“In compliance with the amendments to the legislation the Accounts Chamber will be given new opportunities and new powers,” Chaika said.
The agencies are planning to conduct joint measures to prevent crimes, exchange information and counter corruption.
