Russia approves handover of 2 military townships to Russian military base in Armenia

MOSCOW, February 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian government has approved a protocol to Russian-Armenian agreement on places of deployment of a Russian military base in Armenia.

Russia will bring back a military township in village Atsik to Armenia previously handed over to the country, the Russian government said in a resolution posted on the official Internet portal of legal information. At the same time Armenia will pass two military townships in Yerevan and Gyumri to Russia. So, the number of places of deployment of the Russian military base in Armenia will reach 21.

The Russian Defense Ministry and the Foreign Ministry were instructed to have talks with Armenia, not making drastic changes in the text of the protocol.
