Russian, Kazakh defense ministers agree on Balkhash complex development

ASTANA, January 31. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian and Kazakh defense ministries have settled all the issues to develop the Balkhash complex, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told reporters on Friday after the talks with his Kazakh counterpart Adilbek Dzhaksybekov.

In his words, they had detailed and thorough discussion of key issues. The main among them was an agreement on all the aspects for the further work and use of the Balkhash complex, its development, joint work and joint air defense, the Russian defense minister said.

"We have agreed to begin its joint use and work. For this purpose, this year we must begin training specialists, ensure access and, what is the main thing, ensure assembly and delivery of additional equipment," Shoigu noted.

The third issue was everything related to the joint use of training grounds, including some areas in Russia, he added.
