ROSTOV-ON-DON, January 29. /ITAR-TASS/. A heavy snowfall, which incessantly continues in the Rostov-on-Don region for two successive days, has caused a heavy traffic jam on the M-4 federal motorway in the Rostov region. Vehicles stranded in the snow have queued up for many kilometers on other motorways (M-21 and M-23) of federal and regional importance, the press service of the regional department for emergencies told Itar-Tass.
Public transport service has been almost paralyzed; on Wednesday, many citizens could not reach enterprises where they work because no transport vehicles were available.
The Rostov regional governor has convened an extraordinary conference of the regional administration to discuss a possibility of establishing an emergency regime on the territory of the Rostov region.
