Putin, RF government to discuss socio-economic development on Wednesday

MOSCOW, January 29, 1:51 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's President Vladimir Putin will hold a regular conference with government members on Wednesday. The socio-economic development matters, which are handled by the Labour Ministry, as well as land legislation problems will be the main subjects of discussion.

A presidential press service official said, "At the forthcoming conference, it is planned, in particular, to review the implementation of the plan for the activities of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection to attain the socio-economic development-related performance targets determined by the Presiden".

"Besides, those present will tell Putin about measures to refine legislation concerning land regulations," the Kremlin official pointed out.

"Those present at the conference will also touch upon some topical matters relating to the country's everyday life," the press service announcement says.

The meeting will be held in continuation of a series of conferences between the Head of State and members of the Cabinet of Ministers to discuss priorities in the implementation of the tasks set by the President in his Adfress to the Federal Assembly (parliament) in furtherance of the May Decrees of 2012.

The first such meeting was held on January 15. "All our plans have been set out in the respective documents. Nevertheless it is essential to focus on the basic orientations," Putin said then. "It is necessary to concentrate attention on them, on financial and administrative resources. Therefore we agreed together with the Head of Government that we would meet at my office sometime once in two weeks to discuss jointly the most sensitive and most important-to-everyone matters".

The Head of State specified that not only government members but also, if necessary, the governors of large regions of the country and heads of municipalities would take part in those sessions.

Participants in the first meeting discussed matters regarding implementation of housing programmes, preparations for fulfilling the budget for the 2014-2016 period, and measures to raise the effectiveness of budget investments, as well as the problems of rebuilding houses damaged during the summer floods in the Far East.
