MONTREUX, January 21, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has begun a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy ahead of the Geneva-2 international peace conference on Syria due to begin here on January 22.
The two ministers refrained from comments before the meeting.
Lavrov arrived from Geneva to Montreux earlier on Tuesday. Before the launch of the Geneva-2 conference, he plans to meet with U.S. Secretary of State John. It is not ruled out that Larvov and Kerry will have consultations with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
The Russian foreign minister also plans to meet with his Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mualem. It is worth noting that journalists are not let to access the venue of the talks. They are staying at a press centre in the vicinity of the Montreux Palace hotel.
