MOSCOW, January 19, 17:44 /ITAR-TASS/. Almost 94,000 people took a dive in Moscow despite bitter frost as Russia is marking the Epiphany day, the press service of the Moscow Emergencies Ministry department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
The bathing is nearly over by now.
A total of 54 ice holes had been organized in Moscow for the occasion.
“Almost 150,000 people bathed in the ice holes the previous night, in the morning and during the day,” the Emergencies Ministry source went on to say.
One hundred sixteen rescuers and emergency workers were on duty during the Epiphany bathing.
No accidents have been reported.
