MOSCOW, January 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met on Friday with outgoing EU special envoy for the South Caucasus Philippe Lefort to discuss the situation in the region, the Foreign Ministry reports.
The French diplomat has been in that office since August 2011. Earlier, EU’s envoys to the region were French Pierre Morel - EU special envoy for Central Asia and for the crisis in Georgia, and Swedish Peter Semneby - EU special representative for the South Caucasus.
