MOSCOW, January 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia does not understand why Iran is asked to confirm the country’s adherence to Geneva-1 agreements to participate in a new peace conference on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after talks with Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif in the Russian capital on Thursday.
“Why Iran in particular is demanded to confirm this support, I do not know,” the minister said.
“Iran has voiced its support to Geneva-1 many times,” Lavrov noted.
