Defense Minister: Fuel stocks enough for winter

MOSCOW, January 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's Defense Ministry has fuel to meet its winter needs, says Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

“We have sufficient fuel reserves in all directions,” he told a teleconference on Tuesday. “Coal reserves exceed the norm by about 15 days. This will suffice for more than 60 days, or two months,” he said.

“Fuel oil reserves will last for about 58 days, which is also higher than normal,” he said. “These figures give us no particular cause for concern."

Nevertheless, this now had to be reflected in the condition of the heating system, he added. “We have done much to repair and improve it,” he said. “This work should be continued.
