MOSCOW, January 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Political directors of the Group of Eight will gather for the first session in Moscow on January 28-29, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

Ryabkov, who is Russia’s Sherpa, said, "All partners are expected to take part in the meeting, which will be devoted to priorities of Russia’s presidency".

The G8 “is working in two directions: for Sherpas these are issues related to counter-terrorism, the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and risks to the modern development. Sherpas deal with economic issues while political directors start discussing political issues in Moscow on January 28-29”, Ryabkov said.
