Inter-departmental operative group to coordinate flights before and during Sochi Olympics

MOSCOW, January 13. /ITAR-TASS/. An inter-departmental operative working group will coordinate the flights in the run-up and during Winter Olympic Games in the southern Russian city of Sochi, the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“An inter-departmental operative group for the use of air space over the city of Sochi consists of representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency, operational bodies of the unified system of air traffic, Defence Ministry, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Federal Security Service and the Federal Guard Service,” the press service said. Specialists have already started working at the Black Sea air traffic controlling centre at Sochi airport.

The main task of the group “is to coordinate flights of aircraft and other activity over the use of air space in the region, where the 22nd Olympic Winter Games and the 11th Paralympic Winter Games will be held in the city of Sochi in 2014,” the press service said.
