Robbers steal from gems shop jewelry worth 6 million rubles

MOSCOW, January 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Robbers have stolen from a gems shop in western Moscow jewelry worth six million rubles ($180,700), press service of the Moscow police reports.

“An armed robbery was committed at a jewelry store at the address 11, Vernadsky Avenue. Threatening to use a handgun, the robbers took jewelry item from the showcase and fled,” the police said. “They stole jewelry worth six million rubles.”

On Saturday, a similar incident was reported from a jewelry store in Mozhaiskoye Shosse highway, also in the west of Moscow. “A masked man came into the shop, wounded a guard officer from a handgun, took jewelry from the showcase and fled in a car parked outside the shop,” the source said.

In both cases, the police have not detained the robbers as yet.
