Bomb threat caller allegedly mining Siberia’s Irkutsk airport detained

The police have evacuated around 400 people from the airport, moreover, one flight was delayed

IRKUTSK, January 12, 12:00 /ITAR-TASS/. The police have detained a young woman, who called the police, claiming that the building of an airport in the Russian Siberian city of Irkutsk is allegedly mined on Sunday morning, the press service of the East Siberian transport police department reported.

“All emergency services in the city were put on high alert. The police have evacuated around 400 people from the airport, moreover, one flight was delayed,” the press service said.

“No explosive devices were found in the search through the airport building and the adjoining territory,” the police press service said.

“The police have detained a 28-year-old Irkutsk female resident in the search. She confessed in the crime, but failed to explain the motives of her offence,” the press service said.

“A criminal case was opened against the young woman for deliberately false information about a terrorist act,” the police press service reported.
