Medvedev decrees inter-budgetary transfers for run-up to FIFA World Cup 2018

MOSCOW, January 12, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution, determining “the rules of inter-budgetary transfers from the federal budget to the budgets in Russian constituent territories for the run-up to a FIFA World Cup in Russia in 2018,” the website of the country’s government reported.

“The programme of preparation to the FIFA World Cup envisages construction and reconstruction of 113 training pitches, including 48 pitches for training prior to the tournament and 65 playing fields at the training bases of the teams,” the governmental website reported.

The federal budget envisions 63.4 million roubles ($1.9 million) in 2014, 253.3 million roubles ($7.6 million) in 2015 and one billion 812.8 million roubles ($54.6 million) in 2016 to fund construction and reconstruction of 86 training pitches.
