Three miners trapped under rock debris at Kemerovo mine brought to surface

KEMEROVO, January 05, 7:53 /ITAR-TASS/. The rescuers succeeded to bring to the surface three miners trapped under the rock debris at Russian Urals’ Kemerovo coalmine Krasnogorskaya, the regional department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“The miners were brought to the surface. According to preliminary reports, they are in a satisfactory condition. However, the specialists are working with them,” the EMERCOM regional department said.

The accident at the coalmine Krasnogorskaya in the city of Prokopyevsk in Russian Urals’ Kemerovo region was reported at 06:04 Moscow time (02:04 GMT). Seven miners were staying at the accident site, three of them were trapped under the rock debris.

The coalmine was commissioned in 1949. The coalmine makes part of the coalmining association Prokopyevskugol, which is incorporated in the Kemerovo-based multi-industry joint stock holding company Siberian Business Union.
