Vologda-Medvezhyegorsk road included in list of federal-aid highways

MOSCOW, January 03, 20:49 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s government has included the Vologda-Medvezhyegorsk road into a list of federal-aid highways at the intersection with the Kola motorway.

A resolution to this effect has been placed on the government’s website.

The Vologda-Medvezhyegorsk road runs on the territories of Vologda Region and the Republic of Karelia and links federal-aid highways “Kholmogory” M8 and Kola R21.

“The highway to central Russia and Trans-Urals on the Vologda-Medvezhyegorsk road from Murmansk and northwest of Karelia via Vologda Region reduces the way by 350 kilometres. It will make it possible to ease transport flows on the highways Kola R21, Vologda-Tikhvin A114-Kola R21 and ‘Kholmogory’ M8,” the resolution says.
