New Marine training centre begins working

MOSCOW, January 02, 10:45 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Navy have implemented an order from Defence Minister General Sergei Shoigu to organise a Marine training centre. It was opened on December 31, 2013, a source at the Navy told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

The training centre has divisions for Marine crews of surface ships, military and rescue diving specialists and junior specialists, the source said.

“The centre will use new approaches to staff training and education. It will offer a complex multi-level programme in compliance with the short-term and long-term objectives of receiving new warships of different classes, weapons and equipment,” Commander of the Navy, Admiral Viktor Chirkov said. “We shall organise an effective training process with overwhelming theoretical and practical programmes, using training facilities. The training programmes may be adapted to any objectives.
