Putin ratifies agreement that regulates rules of sojourn of Tajik nationals in Russia

MOSCOW, December 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday ratified an agreement with Tajikistan for regulation of the rules of sojourn of Tajik nationals in the territory of Russia.

The Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily published the text of the law on Monday.

Tajik nationals who arrive in Russia should get registered at their place of residence in the course of 15 days since the date of entry into Russia. At present, all foreigners arriving in Russia are supposed to get registered in the course of seven days.

According to the Russian Federal Migration Service, about 1.3 million Tajik nationals had entered Russia before December 18, 2013, a 20% increase over last year. About 900,000 of them have registered themselves at the Russian Federal Migration Service.
