House where gunman blocked explodes

MAKHACHKALA, December 28, 11:26 /ITAR-TASS/. An explosion occurred in the house where a gunman was blocked in a village in Dagestan’s Khasavyurt district, a Dagestani law-enforcement source told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

The gunman was blocked on Friday in the village of Petrakovskoye.

During the active phase of the operation, after an exchange of fire, a blast went off in the house. Most likely, it was a bomb that was in the house. The gunman was dead after the explosion. The active phase will be over when the special-purpose group examines the house, the source said.
