Putin to meet with ministers who hold this year's last session Thursday

MOSCOW, December 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's President Vladimir Putin meets here on Thursday with the government members who will also hold the Cabinet's last session in the outgoing year.

A government press service official said a draft Federal purpose-oriented program "The South of Russia" for the 2014-2020 period would be one of items on the agenda of the Cabinet meeting.

The implementation of the Programme is expected to promote the formation of common favorable socioeconomic conditions for the development of the real sector of the economy of the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), the stimulation of investments-related activities in the District, the attraction of capital to the economy, the guarantee of citizens' worthy living conditions through creating new jobs and enabling people to receive qualitative education, and through building priority healthcare facilities in the NCFD.

The agenda of the Cabinet meeting also includes a number of bills that are subject to ratification. This refers, specifically, to the ratification of a Treaty among CIS countries on crime detection, a Russia-China intergovernmental agreement on the facilitation of citizens' travel, and a Russia-Kyrgyzstan agreement on cooperation in the field of transportation, distribution and sales of natural gas in Kyrgyz territory.

The Cabinet is also to examine an agreement between the governments of Russia and Tajikistan on cooperation in the delivery of petroleum products to that republic, and a draft law on ratification of the Convention between the governments of the Russian Federation and Malta on the prevention of double taxation.
