Putin to present State awards to outstanding cultural figures, science professionals

MOSCOW, December 25, 6:06 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's President Vladimir Putin will present State awards to outstanding persons at a traditional ceremony ahead of the New Year in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin here on Wednesday, the presidential press service reported.

The awards will include the Order for Services to the Fatherland, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Order of Courage, the Order for Military Services, the Order of Naval Merit, Honour and Friendship Orders, as well as medals. These are to be presented to more than 40 persons.

The honorary titles are to be awarded for services in various branches of the national economy as well.

Cultural figures, science professionals, sportsmen, the military and cosmonauts, businessmen, and workers of agriculture are among the awardees.
