Russia remains EU strategic partner

BRUSSELS, December 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia remains the European Union’s strategic partner, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy said after the EU summit on Friday.

The EU and Russia maintain intensive economic and energy cooperation. Russia is the EU key partner at the talks on Iran and Syria, Van Rompuy said, adding that Russia was the EU strategic partner with which there was a series of disagreements.
