Prime minister urges to improve incentive system for regions

MOSCOW, December 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that the incentive system for the country’s regions should be additionally improved.

“The regions’ incentive system needs additional adjustment and further improvement. Because if somewhere it has become clearer, in other areas it fails to stimulate the abandonment of leading-strings mentality and is not a clear-cut system making it possible to assess the real steps taken by regional authorities,” he said at a government meeting.

“This factor should also be taken into account in the assessment of activity of the heads of the RF subjects and in grant-making,” Medvedev believes.
