Russian defense ministry to form training center for Afghan sappers

MOSCOW, December 18. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian Defence Ministry will form a training centre for Afghan sappers to demine the territory of Afghanistan, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday.

“Today we are forming a minesweeping training centre for the sappers to demine the territory of Afghanistan,” he said at a meeting with students of Russian higher educational institutions at the Russian Tsiolkovsky State Technological University.

In his words, the Afghan sappers will be trained in their native language.
