Chief security guard of Spain embassy beaten in Moscow, attacker detained

The unidentified offender hit the foreigner in the face several times and initially escaped, found later Wednesday afternoon

MOSCOW, December 18. /ITAR-TASS/. The chief security guard of the Spanish Embassy in Russia was beaten up in central Moscow, the attacker was detained, the Moscow law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

The incident has occurred at 48, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street. “The unidentified offender hit the foreigner in the face several times and escaped. The injured party received medical aid immediately and refused from being taken to a hospital,” a source in the Moscow law enforcement agencies said.

The suspected attacker was detained in the search operation on Wednesday afternoon. He turned out to be a 42-year-old resident of Bryansk Region.

A criminal case was opened against the detainee for battery.
