Governor of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk territory wounded from nonlethal gun in France

The incident occurred at the Governor’s villa in Cap d’Antibes in the very southeast of France

KRASNOYARSK, December 17, (ITAR-TASS). Governor of Russia’s Krasnoyarsk territory, Lev Kuznetsov, has been lightly wounded from a nonlethal gun in France, the Governor’s press secretary Stella Alexeyeva told Itar-Tass.

The incident occurred at the Governor’s villa in Cap d’Antibes in the very southeast of France.

Two unknown offenders broke up the door of the villa belonging to Kuznetsov and his spouse and intruded the house. They were armed with nonlethal guns, tear gas bottles and a rubber baton.

The criminals assaulted the owners and stole jewelry worth 200,000 euro.

Kuznetsov tried to offer resistance to the attackers but received a wound in the ribs.

The Governor was visiting France as part of a short-term leave, Alexeyeva said adding that he and his wife felt well and the Governor returned to Krasnoyarsk to take part in a gala ceremony dedicated to the start of construction of the Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline, due take place in the Boguchany district of the territory

In the meantime, police in Nice have started an investigation of the incident.

The tax declaration Governor Kuznetsov filed in 2012 said he owns a land plot of 3,385 sq m and a house with a floor space of 180 sq m in France.

Separately from his wife, he also had an apartment with the floor space of 109 sq m and three garages in France.
