BEIJING, December 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian-Chinese cooperation has reached a new level, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said at a meeting with Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun on Monday.

“Russian-Chinese cooperation in key international and regional issues, including in the law enforcing field, has reached a new level,” Kolokoltsev said.

During the meeting, the Russian minister said relations between the two countries developed dynamically. “Contacts between the leaders of the countries are intensive. This proves the right and balanced nature of strategic partnership,” he said.

The Russian Interior Ministry supported a memorandum on interaction between the Russian Security Council and the Central Politics and Law Commission of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party.

Kolokoltsev said law enforcement cooperation was a significant part of Russian-Chinese multifaceted relations. “The active development of contacts in different directions is aimed at achieving concrete results,” the Russian minister said.

Russian and Chinese law enforcers have considerable experience of cooperation within the multilateral and bilateral formats in fighting terrorism and extremism. Kolokoltsev said Russia sought to expand cooperation with China in certain issues, primarily in taking preventive measures to fight terrorism and organised crime.
