IZHEVSK, December 16. /ITAR-TASS/. The medics estimate that world renowned Russian arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, 94, who was taken to the republican diagnostic centre a month ago, is in heavy condition.
“His condition is stable, but heavy. He is undergoing a treatment course,” the press service of the health ministry of the Russian Ural republic of Udmurtia told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The legendary rifle designer was brought to the intensive therapy ward at the republican diagnostic center on November 17. The patient was diagnosed with gastric hemorrhage that was stopped in a surgery, Udmurtia health minister Vladimir Muzlov said. No visitors are permitted to see Kalashnikov in the ward. After the surgery he underwent an intensive therapy course as well as rehabilitation and recovery procedures.
