MOSCOW, December 16, 4:26 /ITAR-TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will inspect Monday the readiness of Olympic facilities for the 22nd Winter Games. A government press service official said the Head of Government would tour the health-building center Dagomys, Olympic and Paralympic Villages, and then hold a conference "On the Readiness of Olympic Facilities for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and the 11th Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi".
The inspection activities will involve Vice-Premier Dmitry Kozak, Vladimir Ustinov, plenipotentiary presidential representative in the Southern Federal District, Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Alexander Zhukov, president of the Olympic Comittee of Russia, officials of executive government bodies, and the leadership of the OlympStroj and the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee.
Since September 2013, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee switched over to a mode of operational readiness with the setting up of the Main Operation Center. Two large-scale intrr-agrncy exercises were held, and another three are to be held before the commencement of the Games.
The preparation of skiing routes at sports facilities is under way in the Gorny (mountain) cluster. A data processing technological center has been put into operation, and the main telecommunication and information systems of the Games have been made operational. In October 2013, the technological systems at all facilities were comprehensively tested.
Work is nearing completion to establish a barrier-free environment in Sochi at more than 1,000 facilities of social, transport, and sports infrastructure and cultural establishments. Work is also under way to roll out a public catering network and assemble food-vending equipment.
