Russian athletes win ten medals on day four of Winter Universiade

TRENTO (Italy), December 15, 22:45 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian athletes won ten medals on day four of Trentino 2013 Winter Universiade on Sunday.

Biathlete Tatiana Semenova won bronze in women’s 7.5 km sprint, while the gold medal went to Polish Nowakowska-Zemniak Weronika.

Russian biathletes went without medals in men’s 10 km sprint, with the best result demonstrated by Alexander Pechenkin, who came fourth. Serbia’s Petrovic Milanko won gold, Ukrainian Vitaly Kilchytskyy won the silver medal, while bronze went to another Ukrainian biathlete, Dmytro Pidruchnyi.

Russia’s Golenkova Valentina won the bronze medal in ladies’ super-G. Italian Borghetti Guilia won the gold medal, while Polish Chrapek Karolina won bronze.

Russian Biryukova Sofia won the gold medal in ladies’ figure skating at Trentino 2013 Winter Universiade on Sunday. Her result in short program and free skating is 161.91. Another Russian, Sofia Mishina won bronze with 154.98. The silver medal went to Italian Valentina Marchei (160.18).

Russian athletes claimed the top three places in ladies’ ski cross in freestyle skiing at Trentino 2013 Winter Universiade in Italy.

Daria Nikolayeva won the gold medal, Violetta Kovalskaya took silver, while Viktoria Struk got the bronze medal. Russian Igor Omelin won the silver medal in men’s ski cross.

The Russian team of Oschepkova Evgeniia and Vokuev Ermil won gold in the mixed team sprint free in cross country skiing. Another team of Povaliaeva Anna and Shakirzianov Raul won bronze. Silver went to the Swedish team of Cedervaern Emilie Fanny and Karlsson Anton Arne.

Russia went without any medals in speed skating on Sunday. Russia’s rank by total is number one with a total of 29 medals won.
