MOSCOW, December 09. /ITAR-TASS/. The main direction of activities of a new information agency — Russia Today, established on Monday on the basis of RIA Novosti, will be promotion of Russian events abroad, order, signed by President Putin, reads.
“The main direction of the activities of the International News Agency Russia Today is promotion abroad of the Russian state policies and social life in the Russian Federation,” the document reads.
The president will appoint a new agency’s head and will have to dismiss the current one.
The new agency will be located at Moscow’s Zubovsky Boulevard, where RIA Novosti used to be.
