Medvedev calls healthcare Russia's government’s priority

MOSCOW, December 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Healthcare issues are priorities for the Russian government, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in his address to participants in the international healthcare week in Moscow.

The forum is a major international exhibition of achievements in medicine, he said. the topic of promoting healthy living is very timely on the eve of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi, Medvedev continued.

“Nowadays, the government pays priority attention to healthcare. We are building new hospitals, supplying high-technology equipment for diagnostics and treatment, we are working on improvement of qualifications of medical staff,” the prime minister said.

He expressed confidence, the forum would have interesting discussions and exchange of views, and the recommendations would be used in practical work.
