No intention for EU to end preparations on easing visa regime by Russia-EU summit

MOSCOW, December 06.  /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union has no intention to complete preparations for a draft agreement to ease visa formalities by the Russia-EU summit scheduled for January 2014, Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador at large Anvar Azimov said on Friday.

“The summit is scheduled to take place in late January. If the EU countries and the European Commission show political will, we’ll be able to prepare an agreement for signing,” Azimov said.

“The current situation proves that our partners have no such intention to complete the process by the summit. The work may be continued,” the diplomat said, adding that Russia “is not going ‘to pound its chest often fits’ and will react calmly”.
