Chechen lawmaker's associates refuse to comment on fistfight

Delimkhanov reportedly dropped a pistol during the scuffle

MOSCOW/GROZNY, December 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Associates of State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov (United Russia faction) have refused to comment on his fistfight with his colleague Alexei Zhuravlyov on Tuesday.

"We won't make any preliminary comments. We are continuing to work as usual," Delimkhanov's spokeswoman Tatyana Georgiyeva told Itar-Tass.

Zhuravlyov's press secretary Sofya Cherepanova told Itar-Tass that Delimkhanov "rudely made claims regarding Zhuravlyov's inquiry sent to the Prosecutor General's Office in September 2013 requesting a check of the monument to Chechen women in the town of Gudermes for extremism."

Delimkhanov hit Zhuravlyov in the face, and the latter fought back. According to Cherepanova, "Delimkhanov dropped a pistol during the scuffle".
