MOSCOW, December 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Katerina Novikova, the Bolshoi Theater’s official spokesperson, has refuted media reports that the theater has refused to extend a contract with the ballet troupe’s artistic director Sergei Filin.
“I would like to tell you that this is not true. Sergei Filin will work on his current contract until March 2016. A decision on whether to extend it will be made shortly before the expiration date,” Novikova told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
Previous media reports said that the Bolshoi had warned Sergei Filin that it would not extend his current work contract. The artistic director was allegedly offered a 12-month rehabilitation leave but he turned that offer down.
