Moscow Region police chief Golovkin tenders resignation

MOSCOW, December 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Chief of the Interior Ministry’s main department in Moscow Region Nikolai Golovkin tendered resignation. The Russian Interior Ministry confirmed this report to Itar-Tass.

“We confirm the report that he (Golovkin) tendered resignation, his application will be considered within the deadlines set in the law,” the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry reported on Tuesday.

A source in the law enforcement agencies in Moscow Region noted that the Moscow regional police chief had tendered resignation after a ministerial inquiry in the police department he headed. “Golovkin said about his intention to tender resignation at a meeting of the Interior Ministry’s main department in Moscow Region on Monday upon the results of an inquiry by the Interior Ministry,” the source noted.
