ONF to form working group on labour migration issues.

MOSCOW, November 29. /ITAR-TASS/. The All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) will soon create a working group on labour migration issues, member of the movement’s Central Staff Mikhail Shmakov told Itar-Tass on Friday.

According to him, the working group on labour migration would be created “in the short run, and its work plan will be submitted for consideration and approval to the ONF Central Staff at its next meeting.” However, Shmakov admitted, “labour migration is a complex problem, and it cannot be resolved by the creation of a working group alone.”

He also said that at present the country was facing “an unjustified toughening and over-bureaucratisation of the procedure for submitting applications for foreign workforce quota allocation, which requires a thorough consideration.”

“Competent regulation of internal labour migration processes will make it possible to stabilise the situation on the Russian labour market and remove part of the interethnic problems,” Shmakov emphasised.

According to him, the working group is only at the stage of formation, but it is already known that its members will be co-chair of the ONF Central Staff, head of the Opora Russia NGO for support of small- and medium-sized businesses Aleksander Brechalov, member of the ONF Central Staff, deputy of the State Duma lower house of parliament Mikhail Starshinov, president of the National Medical Chamber Leonid Roshal and head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Aleksander Shokhin.
