NEW YORK, November 28, 23:28 /ITAR-TASS/. CNN spokespeople have refused to comment on the situation with an interview of the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, in which the channel clipped out a number fragments.
A representatives of the CNN press service said the channel never gives any comments regarding its programs. Nor did CNN provide any explanations for removing Churkin’s assessments of the developments in Syria, for instance, the obstacles to humanitarian operations put up by the opposition. The press service also refused to give any comments on whether the channel’s senior executives were aware of the assessment of the incident given earlier by the Deputy Director of information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, who said: “The the CNN cut out the interview Churkin’s principles assessments regarding Syria stands far beyond the boundaries of professionalism and just simple understanding.”
The CNN spokesman said he could not say exactly whether or not the company’s decision-makers had been familiarized with Zakharova’s commentary and he said he did not have any notes on it.
Representatives of other departments of the channel, who might have shed some light on the situation, did not respond to Itar-Tass questions.
