Warlord killed in Ingushetia, 2 powerful bombs found

MOSCOW, November 27. /ITAR-TASS/. A warlord of the Pliyevo gang was killed in a special operation in the Russian North Caucasian Republic of Ingushetia, two strong explosive devices were found.

Two gunmen killed in the settlement Pliyevo in Nazran district of Ingushetia were identified, a press officer of the information centre of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“One of them turned out to be warlord of the so-called Pliyevo gang Murad Pliyev, born in 1988, nicknamed Mussa, who had been on the federal wanted list since 2010. He specialized in the murder of law enforcers, the shootings at the houses, the making of and blasts of homemade explosive devices,” the press officer said.

Two explosive devices with the blasting power of 12 kilograms of trotyle each were also found at the place of the special operation.

Meanwhile, during the search in the house, where the gunmen were blocked, the operatives of the Federal Security Service department in Ingushetia have found four submachine guns, a machine gun Kalashnikov, a grenade launcher, suicide bomber’s belt, grenades and more than 7,000 cartridges.

According to the operations headquarters of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, a submachine gun was stolen in June 2004 in the attack of gunmen on Nazran and was used in ten murders of law enforcers.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee added that a bandit surrendered during an anti-terrorist operation in Nazran district.

The anti-terrorist operation regime introduced in Pliyevo at 04:00 Moscow time on Wednesday was cancelled by 16:00 Moscow time over the threat of terrorist acts in the republic, the committee added.
