MAKHACHKALA, November 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Several gunmen were killed in a special operation in a suburb of the city of Makhachkala, Dagestan’s capital, a source in the city law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
The regime of the anti-terrorist operation was introduced at 16:30 Moscow time on Tuesday in a Makhachkala suburb within the administrative borders of the Makhachkala suburban settlement of Novy Khushet.
“The operatives were checking the information about the movements and the whereabouts of the gunmen from Makhachkala and Caspian gangs. When the operatives tried to detain them, they opened fire and were killed in the retaliatory fire. The details of the incident are being investigated,” the source said.
