MOSCOW, November 24, 13:45 /ITAR-TASS/. A man, who blew up as he was installing an explosive device in Makhachkala /capital city of Dagestan/, had participated in terrorist crimes, including in the bus explosion in Volgograd.
The explosion occurred on Saturday night in Makhachkala. The National Anti-Terror Committee said the man had aimed at blowing up the police.
“During the reconstruction of the accident, we saw that the criminals attempted to install an explosive device, supposedly to explode a road police patrol being on duty nearby, but the device went off during the installation,” the source said.
The bandit was identified as Suleiman Magomedov
“Magomedov began illegal underground activities a year ago as he joined the so-called Makhachkala terror group. The local intelligence service reports he has been involved in several terrorist crimes, organised by the group.”
“At the site yesterday, we found a Saiga rifle, equipped with an optical sight and a silent shooting, a Stechkin pistol and two grenades,” the Committee said.
Presently, the forces are locating for further detention the criminal’s allies, who got injured during the explosion, but managed to flee the scene.
“The explosive device was self-made of a piece of pipe. It contained shrapnel. Its capacity was about 5 kilograms of TNT,” the source said in conclusion.
