STRELNA, November 22, 17:58 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia hopes that Yekaterinburg will be a city for holding EXPO-2020, President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.
“The victory of Turkey’s Izmir will be of interest for Russia. Yekaterinburg is the best choice. If Yekaterinburg is not elected, then Izmir will be,” Putin said.
“I think so,” Erdogan replied.
“I believe that due to the big volume of trade and economic relations we seek to take part in an exhibition in Izmir and in Yekaterinburg. But we’ll compete, of course,” the Russian president said.
