MOSCOW, November 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Putin opposes strongly the statements that Russia allegedly pursues an aggressive policy against Ukraine’s integration in the European Union, as this is the right of Ukraine to do it.
“We do not oppose Ukraine’s sovereign choice no matter what it would be. If they had stated that Ukraine enters NATO then we would have really opposed this step,” the president said at a Russian literary assembly, which brings together representatives of the literary community at the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship on Thursday.
He noted that Moscow was prepared to discuss with Kiev and Brussels Ukraine’s integration in the European Union, but before a final decision is taken.
