MOSCOW, November 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Brazilian Foreign Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo praises highly Russia’s role in the resolution of the Syrian crisis.
“I would like to note the achievements of the Russian government and Minister Lavrov for the role that Russia plays in the resolution of the Syrian problem,” he said after the negotiations with the Russian foreign minister. “This role contributes to the fact that new areas of dialogue between the Syrian parties to the conflict were opened,” the Brazilian foreign minister said.
“We know that a military solution to the Syrian problem is impossible,” the minister noted. “It should be settled by the Syrians themselves. And we as members of the international community should provide conditions for different forces in Syria to come to terms and to conduct negotiations with the government,” he said.
This is needed “to overcome a crisis in the country, which already has serious consequences in the humanitarian sphere,” Figueiredo added.
