Communist Party of RF would continue efforts to have government sent to resignation

Gennady Zyuganov reminded that the Communists had managed to collect 152,000 signatures under their initiative but to have the government resigned they needed the support of 226 lawmakers

MOSCOW, November 19, 21:44 /ITAR-TASS/. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) will continue its efforts to have Russia’s current cabinet be sent to resignation over the wrong economic policy it pursues, Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov said on Tuesday.

“The government is pursuing a policy that undermines the country’s economic security,” he told journalists after a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

“I put it straight that neither the liberal course nor the government members who are responsible for the economic policy and agriculture are able to cope with the tasks set recently by the president,” he noted. He reminded that the Communists had managed to collect 152,000 signatures under their initiative but to have the government resigned they needed the support of 226 lawmakers of the Russian State Duma lower parliament house.

“We need a strong, professional, literate government that will pursue another policy,” he stressed.
