MAKHACHKALA, November 19, /ITAR-TASS/. A counter-terrorism operation regime has been imposed in the Kirov district of the Dagestan capital city Makhachkala, where the police blocked militants in a private house, a spokesman for the Dagestan police operations headquarters told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

According to the spokesman, the counter-terrorism operation regime was imposed at 18:20 Moscow time.

Earlier on Tuesday, a police patrol came under gunfire near the building of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Dagestan in Makhachkala. Another police patrol came under gunfire in Makhachkala’s Kazbekov Street. Two policemen and one civilian were killed, two more policemen were wounded. One gunman was killed.

Later, the police blocked the gunmen in a private house. “Along with two gunmen who were behind the attacks on the police, according to preliminary data, there is another man, their accomplice,” a police source told Itar-Tass.
